Introduction:
The rose is one of the most beautiful napkin-folding techniques someone could make from a piece of cloth or paper. Your guests will truly appreciate how you put a lot of effort into folding this napkin on the dining table. Because of its complexity, the flower napkin is ideal for occasions where the number of guests is small.
That said, given enough time and people this napkin fold could still be a viable option. There are a lot of steps involved though and they are a bit tricky. This step-by-step instruction would make it much easier for you to learn the fold as it has pictures as well as detailed text. Use a cloth or paper napkin. Enjoy folding!
Make the small square base of the rose napkin
First, unfold the napkin and lay it in front of you just like in the picture above.
Bring the bottom corner towards the middle.
Then fold the other corners of the napkin towards the center.
Fold the right corner to the middle.
Now make a smaller square by folding all the corners to the center again.
Then fold the napkin into a square for the third time. Fold the bottom corner towards the middle.
Again, fold the other corners of the napkin towards the center. Good job! Now it's time to proceed to the next step.
Fold the outer petals of the napkin rose
Flip the napkin over to the other side.
Then, rotate the napkin 180 degrees again.
Fold the corners of the napkin towards the middle.
Flip the napkin over once again.
Gently lift the inner top right corner diagonally upward to the right.
Gently peel the top right layer towards the top right to create the first outer petal.
Do the exact process for the remaining corners. Great job, now it's time to move to the last set of steps.
Create the outer petals of the flower napkin
Fold the bottom triangular flap at the center towards the bottom.
Do the same on the other center flaps. Lift all flaps upwards.
Flip the napkin over to the other side. Make sure that the corners that you folded previously can be seen after flipping the napkin over.
Form it into a ball by lifting all of the outer flaps upwards to the middle.
There you have it! The napkin should look like the image above.
Extra Tips
- Tighten the petals of the napkin a little and your folded rose is ready. It is best to place this napkin in the middle of the plate. If there is not enough space, it can also be put in one of the upper corners of the respective square. For more awesome napkin folds, check out the instructions below.
